Lesley University is pleased to host the 49th Annual Conference of the International Visual Literacy Association that will take place in Cambridge, Massachusetts September 14 – 17, 2017. This conference will bring leaders from around the world to present their research and practice in visual literacy.
You are invited to attend and submit a proposal that addresses the conference theme of Designing Visual Literacy Experiences. Consider how you or others create experiences to develop or enhance visual literacy through engagement in observing, sensing, making, responding, or other means or methods. For example, designing experiences for exploring images in their social/cultural/historical context.
We encourage scholars and researchers, teachers and students, artists, scientists, and other professionals who connect with the multidisciplinary field of visual literacy to submit a proposal. We hope that you will participate in this exciting exchange of best and innovative practices in your fields, presentation on research results, discussion of works in progress, and/or installations and exhibits.
Cambridge and Greater Boston provide an ideal location for the 2017 International Visual Literacy Association Conference for the cities are rich in intellectual, artistic, and cultural resources, averaging over 90 cultural events per day. In addition to events hosted at Lesley, our neighboring institutions and museums will host special events.
