INTERNATIONAL VISUAL LITERACY ASSOCIATION ANNOUNCES COMMUNICATIONS INTERN

The International Visual Literacy Association (IVLA) is thrilled to welcome Laurie Melchionne as the new IVLA Communications Intern. Laurie will be working closely with our current IVLA Communications Coordinator to manage social media and promote the upcoming IVLA Conference. She will have the opportunity to work on a variety of projects including graphic design and digital media development as well as help us continue to provide the best possible resources and support to IVLA members around the world.

Melchionne is a current student at Stockton University in Galloway, New Jersey. She has over five years of experience in writing, journalism, and communications. Currently, Melchionne is the Editor in Chief at The Argo newspaper where she edits, approves, and fact-checks articles as well as social media. Previously, Laurie worked as the Editor of History and before that, an Editorial Fellow at The Tempest. She has also worked as an Arts Management Intern at Murphy Writing, a Senior Freelance Writer for Stockton’s 50th Anniversary Project, and Editor at Stockton University’s Stockpot Literary Magazine.

Melchionne is very pleased to be joining the IVLA and looks forward to working with our team to communicate all the IVLA has to offer to our members. She is busy brainstorming ideas for a series on visual literacy facts and spotlights on our community members.

Melchionne enjoys spending time with her family and friends on the Jersey Shore. She also enjoys all things Italy; the culture, the food, and the language. If you’d like to get in touch, follow her on Instagram at @lauriemelchionne and Twitter at @LMelchionne.
